Cornerstone Masonry developed from the fascination I have always had for stone work. Even years ago when I was a plumber’s helper, I used to drive my boss crazy talking about various stone work we would see, and how I wished I could build something like that. I was fortunate enough some years later to obtain an apprenticeship with a local stone mason. Later, as any ambitious young man starting a new family would do, I opened my own business, which is Cornerstone Masonry. Being a sole proprietor and business owner also fills the need for a flexible schedule, allowing us to observe the weekly Sabbath as well as the other Biblical Holy Days. As our faith is central to our lives, we strive for it to be evident in our work ethic, as well. (Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. Colossians 3:23)
In addition to this, I gain great personal satisfaction building structures that are not only functional and permanent, but also reflect the intrinsic beauty and natural character found in stone. While common designs and small projects receive just as much attention and scrutiny as larger or more creative tasks, I welcome the challenge of unique ideas as an opportunity to excel in the artistry of my craft.
